Key workshop travel information
VISAS: Citizens of Australia, Canada, China, and the United States are required to obtain a visa to enter Brazil. Please check the Brazil evisa site in advance!
FLIGHTS: For funded participants from each network, flights will be booked directly through UNL's travel system. We'll be reaching out to participants who have completed the AccelNet workshop form to coordinate flight purchases. To move forward with the bookings, we'll need your preferred departure airport, full name and title, contact email, contact phone number, and a copy of your passport.
ARRIVAL TIMING and GROUND TRANSPORTATION: Our workshop time together will begin the evening of June 11th. If you are flying into Rio de Janeiro Airport (GIG), it is a 3.5 - 4 hour drive to Búzios. We'll be coordinating rides from the airport to the conference venue (Hotel Atlântico Búzios Convention) with our partners in Brazil. If your flight can arrive by 11am on June 11th, you should have time to reach the hotel and rest a bit before the workshop begins. For flights scheduled to land in Rio later than 11am, it may be more feasible to arrive on June 10th.
LODGING: For funded participants from each network, we'll directly book hotel rooms for your time at the workshop. If you'd like to stay longer to participate in the International Toxoplasma Congress, you can find additional room reservation information on the conference website to cover your stay for the night of the 14th and beyond.
MEALS: Breakfast is included with conference lodging, and stipends will be provided for lunch and dinner meal costs for funded workshop participants.
For participants with external funding: We'll have a system to share flight arrival/departure information so that we can help to arrange ground transportation between the airport and hotel.
