Where is your hometown?
Lincoln, NE
Why you're interested / excited to be part of this program?
I am really excited to work with an ongoing research project, I want to learn all about the research process including collecting and processing data and learn how to put my findings into writing and share it with others. Working with this team has already introduced me to a majority of this process and I am very excited to keep working with everyone and see what comes next in the research.
What kind of work you're doing in the One Health program / mentors you're working with?
I am currently working on collecting and processing bullfrog and native tadpoles as well as red-wing blackbird and cowbird eggs that will be used to help determine how the contamination of the land has affected the things living on it. We have also learned about how bees and their health fits into this and I am looking forward to doing more with the bee lab later this summer.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When home I am usually hanging out on my balcony with my cat or with my friends and family. I enjoy relaxing with a good book and some music. When I go to new places I enjoy going outside and walking around and just finding cool stuff in nature and just exploring in general.
