Aurélien completed his PhD (2005) working on environmental reservoirs of Toxoplasma gondii in MarieLaure Dardé’s group, University of Limoges, France. Then, he studied the impact of water treatments on Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and Toxoplasma parasites as a postdoc at Eau de Paris-CRECEP. Since 2007, he is associate professor of parasitology at Aix-Marseille University. He is interested in developing innovative imaging and single-cell force measurement techniques to study how the structure and biophysics of the oocyst wall sustain the infectivity and transmission of coccidian parasites under various environmental conditions.
